Calculating the amount of vinyl tiles or planks needed

1. Measure the area to be covered in square feet.*
2. Add 5% to account for waste.
3. Have your calculations verified by your sales representative before ordering.

Please note that most vinyl tiles and planks are sold by the box only, which may affect the total quantity ordered.

Remember to factor installation materials, accessories such as transition moldings, and labor and delivery, if applicable, into your budget.

* Did you measure in inches? Take the number of square inches to be covered and divide that number by 144. This will give you the number of square feet to be covered.

Vinyl floor maintenance and cleaning

Maintaining a vinyl floor always begins by removing dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner. Next, the floor should be washed with a clean, well-dampened mop, using a cleaner specifically designed for vinyl floors—such as a pH-neutral all-purpose cleaner.

Note that to extend the life of your vinyl floor, you should avoid excessive pressure, abrasives, direct sunlight, hot objects, and rubber, which can react chemically with the vinyl.

For more details, see our vinyl floor care guide (in french only).
